History
The guild was founded by Jink Bonestealer and others while crossing the Shiverpeaks in 1072. They dedicated themselves to the procurement of information and artifacts as well as general adventuring. They purchased an island just off the Tarnished Coast from the Canthans which became their permanent base. Jink Bonestealer wove many spells into the leylines of the island to make a sanctuary for the guild, a sanctuary which lasted up until 1219 with the rising of Orr.

The guild was infamous for having their members involved in many events occurring all over Tyria. They had ties with the Order of Whispers as well as the Durmond Priory. A bar in Lion’s Arch, the Wise Serpent Tavern, was one of the guild’s bases of operation off the island.

All this changed when Zhaiten brought Orr back into the light. The tsunami was too much for even the island’s heavy magical defenses and many members of the guild died. The survivors salvaged what they could from the island’s library and moved it to Divinity’s Reach, the new capital of Kryta. The guild limped on in a twilight for another fifty years before the children of the survivors decided to disband. The documents and tomes were divided among them and went to all corners of Tyria.

The Wind Riders laid dormant, until the day Cain Daegal stepped onto the old island.

Current Status
The guild is in a state of resurrection, led by Cain Daegal. He is supported by the charr named (curiously enough) Jink Bonestealer, as well as friends and family that also have ties to families of Wind Rider fame.

About WIND
The Wind Riders guild has seen seven years of Guild Wars, as it was established during the fourth Beta Event in Feburary 2005. The name was chosen before the creatures known as wind riders were encountered, but they have been adopted as the guild’s mascot. The guild emphasizes communication, respect, and camaraderie among its members.
Our main focus is on roleplaying, but we also enjoy PvE as well as dabble in PvP. We may have more PvP once GW2 is released. We engage in all kinds of RP, from light-hearted and silly to dark and convoluted.

Most members (at this time) are in the North American timezones, but we're open to all (we have one fella across the pond, after all!).

Member Requirements

We require 18+ for age, as our plots can turn quite dark, but recruits can be exempted from this rule if they are mature.
There may be a minor activity requirement in the future, depending on how multi-guild membership goes. Otherwise, we only require that a new member registers on the WIND forums.
