General Guild Info
We believe that it is the members who make the guild, not just the leadership.
The Gryphons Aerie was built by the members and for the members. We welcome any and all suggestions, comments, and other feedback that will help the guild grow stronger and continue to move forward in a way that is beneficial to everyone. We take great pride in helping our members. Nothing is too small or trivial whether it's a quest/mission/dungeon, leveling, or even gear to help you progress. Questions are highly encouraged.
We prefer to take a "quality over quantity" approach.
New recruits join on a trial basis to help foster close bonds of friendship and further strengthen the guild as a whole. New members are given time to settle in and adjust to the workings of the guild without having the pressure to contribute to the guild. Our guild chat is kept OOC to also encourage bonds of friendship. There are also no character race or class requirements. Membership is open to all. We do not base membership qualifications on player race, nationality, religion, sexuality, or gender identity.
We are an LGBTAIQ+ "Safe Space".
Many of our members fall into one or more of those categories. We do not tolerate derogatory words, jokes meant to insult, and other things of that nature. Use of such language will result in immediate removal from the guild, no questions asked.
What are we currently looking for?
We are looking for more PvE oriented members to help build up our core and bring us forward into higher level Fractals and eventually Raids. We would love to have more people who are willing and able to set up and take charge of weekly events (such as regular Dungeon/Fractal runs, group map completion in both Tyria and Heart of Thorns, guild missions etc.) on a regular basis. There is no need to have any dungeon experience to join us, nor do you need to use a “meta” build. We will do our best to help you learn as long as you are willing to do so.
If you are “hardcore” PvE, we might not be the place for you, but we would still love to have you if you’re willing to help us all get better. Keep in mind that we do not support using “exploits” to complete dungeons, nor do we utilize or teach “speed runs”.
We have a general belief that the mob we left standing in our path as we went by, was the one holding our precursor. In other words, we don’t skip mobs during runs, but we also don’t go out of our way to kill everything either. If a time constraint is mentioned at the start of the run, then we will accommodate accordingly.
What do we require?
- All members are expected to abide by our Guild Rules and Members’ Bill of Rights as posted on our website.
- You must be 18yrs or older.
- Members are expected to act with dignity, respect and honor in all aspects of their game play as long as they wear our tag.
- Although using the voice channels is 100% optional, we do expect all members to join and use our Discord server (this is to aid in communication with each other and help continue to forge bonds while we are outside of Guild Wars 2).
- Interested persons must register on our guild forums and fill out the short application to be considered for membership. (This application process helps us keep the “Quality vs Quantity” that we prefer. It is little more than some general basic information.)
Other Useful Info:
VOIP: Discord (Voice channels are 100% optional)
Peak Hours: Primarily East Coast US (UTC -5) evenings
Guild Size: Small (less than 50 members)
Roleplay Level: Minimal/Very Light. While not a focus, there are members who participate.
For more information, please visit our website. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact any member of leadership in game. We will be happy to assist you.
